Encuentro is currently experiencing higher crime rates. The new construction has brought in a large number of migrant workers. Encuentro is identified as a higher-end neighborhood with little security. Be careful!
- Don’t walk alone at night.
- Avoid the beach and beach access roads after dark
- Walk in groups
- Carry lights
- Don’t wave your phone around. Robbers are driving in on motorbikes, threatening pedestrians (often with guns), and driving out of the neighborhood.
